Below is a list of things you must do before you hand in a personal narrative rough draft. Please read over EACH one carefully so that you may get an "A." Thanks!

PEER or SELF EDITING:
1. Neat and on time.
2. Hook is good. WHAT TYPE OF HOOK IS IT?????
Write whether it is a description of setting, description of character or dialogue next to the first sentence. If there is not a hook, write “NO HOOK” on the side of it. Go back and revise.
3. Complications: When you wonder, “WHAT is going to happen next?"
Number each complication (1, 2, 3).
4. Lesson learned.
“The lesson I learned is…..” Add it to the conclusion if it is not there. Write “Conclusion” next to it, or “No Conclusion.” Go back and revise.
5. At least three sensory details.
Underline in green pen or with a green dot where it begins.
6. At least three thoughts and feelings.
Underline in red/pink or put a red/pink dot where the thoughts and feelings begin.
DO NOT HIGHLIGHT ENTIRE SENTENCES BECAUSE THEY BECOME ILLEGIBLE (HARD TO READ).
